Aaron is an educator who was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Though Aaron grew up in the city, farming runs deeply in his family history. He currently owns farmland north of Edmonton which he manages. Two years ago, he switched from growing cereal crops and canola to hemp on a rotational basis.
Aaron has owned and managed numerous real estate properties in Edmonton and Fort McMurray. After years of teaching, Aaron created and taught INNOVATE, a hands-on/ project-based platform that supported student learning in real-world contexts. The platform focused on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and community development. Aaron’s passion for project-based learning and sustainability led him into business development, founding Fiber Source in 2020 and Fiber Source Processing Inc. in 2022.
Through Fibre Source, Aaron sells industrial hemp, from his own crop and from contracted farmers to Canadian Rocky Hemp, a company he is invested in. Fiber Source Processing Inc. is developing a decortication facility in Truro, Nova Scotia to process hemp fibers grown in Atlantic provinces. Aaron is a member of the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance connecting him to hemp growers and processors across North America.
